Monday Evening Company Acting Classes

Our Monday Evening Company Acting Classes are age specific for students from grades 2-12. Company Classes offer students an opportunity to study acting on a consistent long term basis. The year is split into three sessions. We encourage students to attend the entire year but it is not necessary to do so. You are welcome to join us for one session or as many of our students do – several years!

Session one and three focus on the fundamentals of acting including; voice, character study, improvisation, and movement. The second session culminates in a public performance that we call a Demonstration. It is called this because it is essentially a demonstration of the acting skills the students have learned with us. The students create and perform original pieces with their classes that are linked together by a common theme. In this way, CTC students are not just learning about acting, they are also learning how to be artists and create their own theatre with their own unique voice.

The Creative Theatre Company is an actor training program where students learn the craft of acting and then are given the opportunity to translate those skills on to the stage in a fun, supportive, and friendly environment. Creative Theatre Company is truly a place where each student shines!

Acting Camps

Our very popular fun-filled, five day acting camps are suitable for students grades 2 to 8. The camps run during March Break and summer. Please register early as the camps fill up very quickly!

Each day we create and perform scenes, play theatre games, practice developing a good, strong speaking voice, investigate creative movement and, of course, learn many aspects of the fundamentals of acting.
The camps are an excellent way to introduce students to the craft of acting!

Camp Information

After twenty-five students have been registered, anyone wishing to attend will be placed on a waiting list. Students placed on the waiting list will be notified only if a space becomes available.

Attendance will be taken daily and absences will be followed up with a phone call unless we are notified in advance that the student will be late or absent.

We would like to stress that the program begins promptly at 9:00 AM and runs until 3:30 PM. Students are expected to be ready to work at this time. As a reminder, a good breakfast is important to sustain energy throughout the morning.

No peanut or nut products are permitted in the building on the first day of camp in case any students enrolled in camp have life threatening allergies. You will be advised after the first day if peanut products are permitted.

Lunch is from 12 noon to 12:45 each day. Please bring a bagged lunch and a few snacks. Students are supervised in the building. If a student wishes to go out for lunch, a note from home with parental or guardian consent must be shown. Without this, students are not permitted to leave the building.

There is no water fountain, so please bring your own bottled water. Water will be available for $1 per bottle (or you can refill in the kitchen).

Chips will be sold at breaks and lunch for 50 cents. Please bring correct change if you are interested.

Students will participate in physically demanding classes and must be dressed accordingly. Please wear comfortable, stretchy clothes (no jeans or dresses) and clean light-soled shoes. Hair must be tied back if long and all hair should be off the face, no baseball hats during class time.

Extended care runs from 8-9am and 3:30-5:30pm. If your child is not picked up by 5:30 there will be a $10 charge for every 10 minutes or part thereof after 5:30. Thank you for your promptness.

Please leave a message on the answering machine if you need to reach us during the day or after hours if you need to get in touch with us. Messages will be checked regularly throughout the day.

For Summer Camps only - Parents are invited on Friday afternoon at 3:00 PM to enjoy a demonstration of some of the acting skills the actors have learned throughout the week.
